Film maker, ethnographer, running a PEG TV station for a small town in Iowa. My career in digital media began with research assistantships and jobs in a specialty computer lab serving the School of Art, Architecture, & Design and the Geography Dept. at LSU. I incorporated digital audio and video production into my research methodology during my MA and PhD fieldwork and teaching. I was very fortunate to land a job leading a small PEG TV station, and the detour out of academia and into real production work led me to put my dissertation research on hold indefinitely - I find that I am just happier with this work than I could be as a college professor! At this stage I have a very strong skill set in production, post-production and project management; I am comfortable with a broad array of professional gear, software, and workflows. What I long for now is greater artistic and technical challenges, higher standards, larger teams, and greater rewards.
I have been in the industry since 2006.
