I have an earnest love and passion for filming and editing video. As a Broadcast Journalism B.A. graduate of Hampton University and a Documentary Production M.F.A. student at Hofstra University, I’ve developed solid interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels.
In addition, I have strong talents in creating, writing, producing, editing communication/video pieces, while operating digital cameras, working in Final Cut Pro, Avid, and Pro Tools. While a student, I have had great opportunities of filming and editing mini documentaries on diverse and interesting subjects.
Continuing my education has given me amazing opportunities to work in front and behind the scenes, while developing exceptional skills in thinking on my feet and community outreach. I have also learned these skills not only through my education background, but working at a news organization in Virginia and a non-profit community outreach organization, The Economic Opportunity Commission of Nassau County. There I’ve served as a Digital Operations Technician, an Administrative Assistant, a Family Service Worker working with the community, and also a teacher.
While in school, I’ve also worked as a background actor and model, networking with many different types of people. Within this profession, many of the jobs required the actor to be dependable, in consideration to very late/ early time calls and work very long hours. I’ve learned the value of time and also the value of being able to interact with different personalities in front and behind the camera, as well as enjoying what I do!
