I love to make things. I am the granddaughter of a carpenter, and the daughter of two D.I.Y.ers. I have grown up sewing, working with power tools and painting. However there was another love in my life, filmmaking. I thought these worlds would need to be kept separate.
In the course of my studies as a Cinema and Photography student with a minor in Theater, I discovered a way to combine these passions. I had always been drawn in by the "world of the film." Thus production design and prop making was the perfect fit.
For my senior thesis film I made a stop motion animation and used all of my free time making small props, set pieces and models. I was overrun with work, my hand were covered in cuts, my clothes covered in paint, plaster and clay and I loved every minute of it. Now that I am done with the film the only thing I can think of is how to keep doing this as a career.
I have been in the industry since 2012.
