Livia is an award-winning, New York-based, Brazilian producer and cinematographer, known for her work on ads, documentaries (long and short form), brand content, and TV shows featuring high-quality, engaging content, for high-end clients such as HBO, Netflix, Microsoft, Visa, Motorola, The New York Times, and Google. She is a highly adaptable, proactive, and skilled producer, with outstanding technical and editorial skills, who is comfortable managing small and big crews and budgets, as well as owning the production process from start to finish.
In 2016, she officially moved to NYC from São Paulo after creating a premium TV series pilot and selling it to the largest media conglomerate in Latin America, which is also one of the largest in the world: Globo. In partnership with Raíza Costa—host of the show—Livia served as producer, director, co-writer, and even cinematographer for the first season of the series. Rainha da Cocada garnered the largest audience for Globo TV and aired during prime time, daily, for five seasons. Thanks to the success of the program, FoodNetwork ordered a web series based on the original show, which was a mix of documentary and cooking show, and was critically acclaimed for its production value and creativity.
Always wearing many hats in the production world, Livia’s true passion is telling real stories. While dedicated full-time to her role as a producer/dp, she has still found time to direct and fund several personal projects. Her first short documentary, Cor de Pele, won the award for best short documentary from the Brazilian Film Academy (an Oscar-recognized award) in 2019, and she is currently producing her first feature-length documentary, titled Presente!, supported by the Sundance Film Institute.
Of the many amazing projects she has worked on during her career so far, among those that stand out are the numerous high-level projects with production companies and advertising agencies that Livia has led as producer for clients such as Havaianas, Natura, Netflix and HBO. She has also worked as a co-director/producer beside Julie Costanzo, executive producer of Sofia Copollas’s film The Virgin Suicides, collaborating on branded content for Microsoft, Visa, and Google.
Livia has directed, shot, and edited a series of short documentaries, which were broadcasted by CNN, Yahoo!, the New York Times, and Newsweek. Also in 2022, as a producer, she collaborated with the production company The Othrs, known for the Oscar-winning documentary The Square, and the documentary series The Vow, both broadcast on HBO Plus.
I have been in the industry since 2007.
