My name is Adam Murray. I am a freelance animator, and writer living in Los Angeles. I am a graduate of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I have a BFA in animation, and a minor in film with a focus in screen writing. I have worked in both fields. Professionally as well as freelance, and also at an interning level.
I've worked in the studio system before as an animator for Augenblick Studios in New York City, on the Comedy Central show ‘Ugly Americans’. When I first arrived I was assigned to background clean-up, before working up to background design. By the end of my internship I was placed on character clean-up and in-betweens. The experience helped me get a feel for working in an animation studio, meeting deadlines, and ensuring quality control through the production pipeline. I’ve also worked as an independent animator along with French animation students on the animated Claire Fouquet film 'Podorange'. I've written, and animated commercial work for Philly CAM (Philadelphia’s only public access channel). Animated title sequences for production houses: Shinygrape Productions, and Cinevore. I worked as an artist, and stop-motion animator for Juggling Wolf Productions on the music video ‘Half Crazy’ by Jukebox the Ghost, along with several smaller commission pieces.
I am proficient with a wide assortment of programs and software, such as: Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Apple’s Final Cut, and Autodesk’s Maya, and I'm especially skilled with Adobe Flash as well as Toon Boom.
I also work as a freelance writer. I've storyboarded, written, and been script supervisor on smaller, independent projects such as 'Me and the Devil Blues', 'Muse', New VHS shorts, and several other projects. I have also scripted, and directed over a dozen videos for 'Funny or Die' for over a year. I have experience in writing, filming, and directing short films, sketches, and web-series. I have written everything from drama to horror, but majority of my work is comedic based. I am available for interviews, and don't be afraid to call me. I work very well with a team/writer's room, and love bouncing ideas off of others, and getting the best script or story possible.
