Benjamin Elterman's plays have garnered the attention of the New York theatre scene over the last year. His play Same River Twice was selected by the Hudson Warehouse Theatre company in their Writer’s A Go Go play reading series. His play The Hollow Stage was the basis for his television pilot The Guilty.
In addition to his pilot he has written spec scripts for such shows as 30 Rock, Modern Family, and Raising Hope. His production credits include work with the HBO series Boardwalk Empire as well as independent films Equity and Ambition. He contributes to culturemob .com and maintains his own blog, mackjack and jill.
Prior to writing Benjamin worked in the Seattle theatre scene. He acted with such companies as Greenstage, Centerstage, Second Story Repertory and Stone Soup Theatre. He also directed and produced 'Night, Mother, Below the Belt, and Central Park West and staged managed We Are Not These Hands.
Benjamin continues his education in writing with personal writing coach, Charles Waxberg (author of the Actor’s Script) and attended classes at Gotham Writers’ Workshop in Manhattan. His Bachelor of Arts in Drama was completed at the University of Washington where he excelled in writing, directing, acting, and solo performance.
