Hello my name is Alex Frantz Ghassan. I am originally from New York and have been living here in The Bay for about a year now. Since my arrival I have been a freelance producer/director for KQED in their Arts department. Back in New York I produced two seasons at FuseTV. As a producer, I managed budgets, oversaw the editing process (fcp/premiere cc), and met tight deadlines with final deliveries.
I also created my own web series called Say Something Worth Something—SSWS for short. The title was a play on the NYC MTA slogan "if you see something say something". The series documented up-and-coming or unknown artistic talent in the New York area. Various media outlets including Complex magazine and the Afropunk network picked up the series. As with anything new in the beginning I did everything. Shoot, record audio and edit the final product.
In the fashion/lifestyle arena I have worked with brands such as Randi Rahm, Marchesa, Li-Ning, Skullcandy, and Breville appliances. Some of my more recent achievements are wrapping production on a feature length documentary called “We Exist” on the topic of gender identity. And having been hand selected by the Oakland Museum to create three films to support an upcoming art installation about gentrification by artist Chris Treggiari.
As a creative I am very comfortable behind the camera (Motion & Still) and only started producing as a necessity in the beginning for my own productions. I have over six years of experience producing and directing music videos, documentaries and branded content. I have also worked extensively overseas as a director. I am repped internationally and just returned from directing various pieces for two months in Estonia/Finland for Sony Music of Finland.
My skill as a quick thinker, along with my experience working as a producer/director in many markets (lifestyle/fashion, science/art, entertainment, and documentary film) makes me an excellent candidate. I await your reply and can furnish any work samples upon request. Below is a link to my website and my resume. Thank you for your time.
