From the first time I set foot on a film set, low budget and indie as it was, I fell in love with the craft of filmmaking. Since that moment I’ve devoted my life to learning everything I can about it and putting everything I have into creating the best work possible. I started in 1999 while still in high school working small indie sets and making shorts with friends, all the while gaining valuable experience and building a network of contacts.
After graduating high school, I worked as a regular freelancer for KBDI Channel 12 in Denver mainly doing camera operating for in-house shows. Just over a year into that, I was getting enough work to strike out on my own as an independent freelancer - the adventure was on!
And what an adventure it’s been! I’ve got to travel around, work on amazing projects, have life changing experiences, and meet some of the most fascinating individuals anyone could ever ask to meet! My primary focus has always been on post production, but I’m just as comfortable on set as I am in an edit suite. I believe that having a thorough understanding of the entire filmmaking process is crucial to being an effective editor, which is why I’ve tried my hand at just about every job one can have on a film set. Through it all I’ve gained a solid comprehension of how every piece fits together to form the finished product.
I’ve been extraordinarily fortunate to work with some incredible people over the years who’ve taught me nearly everything I know, some of them I now count among my best friends. I’m not afraid of hard work or long days to meet that critical deadline, and when something comes up that I don’t know, be assured that I’ll learn and research whatever I need to until I’m up to speed.
I currently operate my edit suite out of a studio space in The Lot @ RiNo where I’ve been for more than a year now. As much as I enjoy the freelance lifestyle, I’m also looking for more steady work to balance things out right now.
So that’s the brief history of Jeff. All I want to do is produce a high quality product to the best of my ability and when needed, add my own creative touch. I’m currently seeking full or part time employment, preferably in post production or some related position. I’m also accepting freelance work. So please take a look at some of my work and if you like what you see, I’d love to talk with you!
