Ronn Brown is a veteran digital media educator, art director, matte painting supervisor and fine artist. In 2011, he was appointed as a member of the Digital Film & Entertainment Commission for the State of Florida. He has taught visual effects for the Digital Domain Institute, the Miami International University of Art & Design and was the Graduate Director of Computer Arts and Animation at the Academy of Art University. Over his 20-year career, Ronn has also held artist and supervisory positions in matte painting and art direction at Sony Pictures Animation, DreamWorks Animation, Rhythm & Hues, Framestore, Weta Digital, Industrial Light & Magic, ReelFX and other top studios. Working on films including; Kung Fu Panda, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Harry Potter, Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace, Life of Pi, Book of Life and many more. Brown has been a member of the Visual Effects Society for over 10 years and the College Art Association. Well traveled and lectures on VFX globally. He freelances on films, television and interactive projects with his freelance company AXISvfx. He holds a BFA from the University of Michigan. And studied master program at MIU in Miami.
