Damon Lee is an award-winning television producer, an accomplished film studio executive, and creative content producer with over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. He has a proven track record for creating acclaimed and high-grossing projects for both film, television and digital distribution. He is the CEO and founder of Deacon Entertainment, a full service production company that spans all media platforms.
Deacon Entertainment works independently and in partnership with individuals and businesses to tell unique stories with universal themes. He is the COO of AlrightTV, a Google-backed YouTube channel. He has leveraged his A-list contacts and vast industry experience for social good by writing, producing, and directing a public service video series for the Department of Education's TEACH.gov campaign. For this series, Damon worked with Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, Sarah Jessica Parker, John Legend, and most notably, President Barack Obama.
He is the recipient of the 2011 NAACP Image award for Outstanding Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special as Executive Producer of the Lifetime movie Sins Of The Mother. He has served as Executive Producer for two of the top five African-American thriller films of the past decade.
The son of two teachers, Damon has always valued education and was an early participant in the Teach For America Program. Damon has taught film at Brandeis University and UCLA. He is currently developing on online film certificate for Laureate International Universities. A graduate of the selective Peter Stark Producing Program, Damon holds a Masters of Fine Arts from U.S.C. and received his BA from Brandeis University. He has served as Vice President of production at MGM, as well as the Executive Vice President of Our Stories Films, the production company created by BET founder Robert L. Johnson.
He lives in Santa Monica with his wife, Michelle, and their two sons, Carter and Beckett.
