Casting expert Samuel Roberts began working in the entertainment industry when he was discovered by a modeling agent. Years after having lived and traveled the world working with icons such as Moschino, Marithe & Francois Girbaud, Calvin Klein, and acting in commercials for Coca-Cola and being the face for United Colors of Benetton, Samuels career consistently flourished and evolved. Upon forming the much sought after agency, Samuel Roberts Casting, he was able to impart this collective knowledge and wisdom to create a casting business that is second to none.
Most recent credits include casting and producing stories for TLC’s Extreme Cheapskates” (Season 2), SyFy's "School Spirits," (Executive Produced by Mark Burnett,) "The Choice" on Fox, the New York cast for Queen Latifah's & David Broome's "The Next: Fame Is At Your Doorstep" for the CW, and finding the craziest drivers for Car & Driver Magazine's web-series "Driver Rehab" for their YouTube channel. He’s cast shows for a variety of major networks like MTV, VH1, Oxygen, CBS and Bravo.
Producing and directing a documentary interview with New York’s “enfant terrible” fashion designer Adrian Alicea, led to him being commissioned to shoot the commercial for his S/S 2013 Collection.
Samuel has gained a reputation as being a formidable and notably effective casting producer, finding the “needle in the haystack” stories and talent the networks are looking for. His interviewing skills, supported by his innate instinct that's coupled with an ability to sense the character’s stories before they even know that they have a story. Completely putting them at ease, this has become a quality that truly sets him apart.
With the eclectic, extraordinary life Samuel has led, living in Switzerland, Italy, France, Miami and now New York, he’s fluent in German and French. He’s very glad to now be able to put 30 years of modeling, acting, writing and performing to use, finding himself very comfortable behind the camera, and it shows.
I have been in the industry since 2008.
I have had the privilege of knowing and working with Samuel Roberts for many years. Samuel has a very keen eye for spotting talent and developing story (often rudimentary) and evolving it into an unexpected compelling narrative. Unique and gentle, but bold and effective describe Samuel's pleasing demeanor. Any production would be fortunate to have Samuel on their staff.
I highly recommend Samuel Roberts!
