Currently, I’m a manager in an aggressive TV news environment leading a large team to grow television broadcast ratings; and, engage viewers with new media platforms like Web, Facebook and Twitter to boost revenue streams. I deal with personnel issues on a daily basis and lead my diverse team to stay on task producing high quality television news stories. I am responsible for quality control and technical success of newscasts, sports programming, a computer network of editing computers and a large fleet of newsgathering vehicles. My position is very large in scope and I balance everything with detailed organization.
In the past I worked at Bowling Green State University’s (BGSU) public TV station, WBGU-TV as a producer and Student Employee Manager. While leading our student workforce to crew productions I developed a training and internship program that sought out the “cream of the crop” for employment on professional productions. My students at BGSU crewed several productions for public television and the University. Additionally, the BGSU Football program trusted my crews to provide highlights to the stadium scoreboard though a multiple camera set up that included instant replays. I was also station Director of Photography that led the visual style of documentaries, educational projects and nationally distributed programs.
