After a music festival in St. Cloud, Florida and some spare time playing around on iMovie, I found myself submitting a video to the Media Productions program at FSU. Three months later… I got in.
Next thing I knew, my life was a beautiful chaos of shoots, late night edits and visual story telling. I grew to especially love the art of documentary film making. I am fascinated by the idea of being able to relive a memory, tell an aesthetically interesting story or capture vulnerable moments.
Throughout my years at FSU, I worked for Seminole Sports Magazine where I filmed and edited features alongside reporters. With Seminole Productions, I directed and filmed live sporting events and concerts for the College of Music. At WFSU, a local Tallahassee Network, I produced a Talk Show called Florida Statements. In 2013 I had the privilege of working alongside Dr. Opel, a distinguished director, on a documentary film involving climate change and political policies in Florida.
Fast forward a couple years, and I was road tripping across the country. I interviewed people I met along the way and documented my time spent in America’s National Parks. I have plans to turn the material I captured into a film.
Currently, I’m a News Editor at CBS4 News in Miami, FL and a freelance editor at Discovery Channel US/ Latin Hispanic.
My time spent working within the realm of production has strengthened my belief in the encapsulating aspect of video and its ability to expose and frame the beauty of ordinary life.
I have been in the industry since 2011.
