I'm a professional Digital Script Supervisor living and working in Los Angeles, CA. I work the ScriptE program on both my Macbook Pro and my Ipad. My macbook pro gives me the ability to connect to video village and stream the monitor's image onto my laptop. I can take screenshots that appear in my notes. With my Ipad I take digital photos and input them into my program. I also work with paper and pencil.
My job on set is to ensure the film will cut together in the editing room. My detailed notes provide the editor with a road map to the footage shot on set. My skills include matching action and eyeline, watching wardrobe, hair, makeup and lighting continuity as well as matching size and camera angles for coverage. These skills help a production save money and time on reshoots. My lined script and facing pages have circle takes making it easier for the editor to find takes the director prefers. At the end of each day I send out my progress report which details what scenes were shot that day as well as camera and sound rolls, number of set ups and camera and sound wrap. I also send out a timing report which breaks down the actual running time of each scene and compares it with the estimated running time.
Examples of all my reports can be found on my website under Work Samples at www.jillianterwedoscripty.com.
