I have excellent written and spoken communication skills, am highly organized and detail oriented, and have a strong work ethic and sense of urgency. My primary work experience has been in senior-level administrative positions in dynamic/creative environments, in particular at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia where I was the executive assistant to the COO and had frequent interaction with Martha herself, and at Eileen Fisher where I was the design studio manager and the assistant to the design director. In both these roles, I managed calendars/schedules for multiple executives/managers, arranged international and domestic travel for individuals and groups, organized/ran onsite and offsite events including participants, venue, catering, presentation preparation, and IT/audiovisual support, maintained a large inventory of office/creative supplies, managed facilities/workspace issues including two major office moves, supported high-volume inbound/outbound telephone and email communications, assisted with development and tracking of department budgets, maintained workspace orderliness (always a challenge when working with clutter-prone designers), and interfaced with diverse internal/external constituencies.
Additionally, I have significant front-line customer service experience from two years as a personal auto consultant at AutoNation in southern California, as well as a year working as an apartment rental agent with Citi Habitats in New York City. I also have experience in corporate communications, first as a foreign accounts liaison at Cosmo Public Relations in Tokyo early in my career (where I also had the opportunity to achieve fluency in spoken Japanese), and later while executive assistant to the COO at Martha Stewart, where I acted as liaison to the merchandising, special events, and communications teams to support the press launch for several new product categories for the brand, including Kitchen, Garden, and Home Décor. And most recently, I have had the opportunity to develop some legal administrative skills as well, having completed approximately two thirds of the necessary coursework toward a California paralegal certificate.
