About Me
I am a Cinematographer based in the Los Angeles area. I have experience shooting narrative shorts and features (of all genres), Music Videos, Commercials and Documentaries. I am willing to travel to wherever the job takes me.
I originally hail from the Midwest and I bring with me to the job a hard Midwestern work ethic. I place emphasis on story and collaboration on every project that I work on. My goal is to help achieve the visual tone/aesthetic of the piece and to assist the director in best telling this story visually to an audience.
I own a Red Epic-Dragon Camera package with Zeiss lenses. I am able to travel with this package and bring it on to any of my shoots.
For education I attended The University of Iowa where I received a Bachelors degree majoring in Cinema Studies. I studied many film theories that covered the psychological aspects of filmmaking. Yearning for more production experience and a desire to move closer to the film capital of the world, I began pursuing a Masters degree at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts with an emphasis in Cinematography. I studied under industry professionals: Bill Dill, A.S.C, Johnny Jensen, A.S.C and Jürg Walther.
While attending Chapman, I won several awards including a special Fotokem grant that was bestowed upon a promising Cinematography student. A year later, I won the prestigious Einstein award that is given to just one grad student a year in recognition of their work.
Please strongly consider me for your next project. Thank you!
I have been in the industry since 2010.
