I am writing this cover letter and attaching it to my resume in hopes you might consider me for the job I am applying for. I earned my Associate’s in Film Production Technology at Miami Dade College and commenced my Bachelor’s in the School of Entertainment and Design Technology. Since purchasing a Canon 60D in 2010, capturing photos, editing photos, blogging about Miami nightlife, and assembling short promo videos for various events has filled that gapping hole of an actual job. My knowledge for providing the consumer with acceptable programming and art grew with my advancement in the world of graphic design, Non-Linear editing, Cinematography, Production Management and Directing productions. In the Fall of 2014, I enrolled in three television courses, knowing some diversification was needed in my Film Production career. I registered in Broadcast Writing, a workshop style class emphasizing news, documentary, commercials, and long form programming. The second class was Television Production 1, which was an overview of the practices and procedures used in a television studio, I learned basic operations of studio and control room equipment and worked towards the completion of broadcast standard projects. The final class was Introduction to Mass Communication, where we developed a critical perception of the mass communications process and its results in both printed and electronic media, it also applied applications of the ethics codes of journalism to the changing roles and forms of journalistic media. Unfortunately, after completing those classes due to personal reasons I was unable to finish Bachelor courses in the Spring of 2015, which included Ethics and Research for non-fiction scripts and Production Workshop 1. Since leaving school I’ve done freelance Production Assistant work, still waiting for the opportunity to provide at a full time position. I’ve moved to Los Angeles and placed myself closer to state/city that provides Digital Media students more Career Opportunities.
