I believe a true reflection of my character is a hardworking individual with a genuine and honest passion for the creative aspect of filmmaking. These qualities are those in which I pride myself in; and I have made it my mission to be a part of the film industry. I am determined to prove my abilities and show that I can be an asset and excel within every task given. I am very passionate and persistent in acquiring a production-based position, and I am confident that my credentials, experience, and versatility fit industry expectations. My desire is to one day hold the title of director and have a substantial impact by sharing my visual eye for story telling. Though I do realize that this will be a journey to obtain this goal, I realistically understand that many avenues must be crossed to achieve such an opportunity. Undertaking a variety of positions will not only add to my experience within the industry but also allow for more knowledge of difference aspects that are incorporated in the process of making a product. I personally have made it a point to explore these different positions, holding various production-based titles from Crane Camera Operator, Film Editor, and Screenwriting, among others.
As of May 2013, I have received my Bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University (TCU) in Film, Television and Digital Media. As stated before, I have relevant work experience within the industry, holding various production-based positions including: Internships, Crane Camera Operator, Film Editor, and Marketing Assistant, among others. I also believe that I posses the software and editing skills required to hold a position within industry, having strong knowledge in Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, and QuickTime files. I also am confident in my proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications, Internet applications and all social media outlets. And those that I may not be familiar with, I believe in my ability to learn quickly and efficiently.
Due to the exclusive nature and high standards that Texas Christian University holds, and as well as my experiences within the film industry, I feel that my character has been molded into a well-rounded, well- educated, and professional applicant. My ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to adapt to changing workloads will not be a problem due to my representation of character and my willingness to succeed.
Sincerely I hope that I have made the task of reviewing my resume an easier decision and that I get the opportunity to prove my skill set and personality. I also have available samples of work from my reel, working examples of social media networks, and a headshot if requested.
Thank you for your time,
Joshua R. Thompson
