Albulena (Lena) Borovci
Albulena (Lena) Borovci is a costume designer actively working on Theater, Film and TV projects. Her experience spans a wide spectrum of work ranging from witty and lush 18th century period costumes to innovative contemporary devised pieces.
Lena holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Costume Design from Carnegie Mellon University - School of Drama.
Lena is the recipient of the USITT's prestigious Zelma H. Weisfeld Costume Design & Technology Award in 2013. In the same year her work is recognized by Costume Society of America with the Early Career Award of Excellence in Costume Design & Technology. In addition, Lena was selected as one of 30 artists, in 2015 I-Art: Artist in Residence program to explore the theme of “Diffused Pole on the Identities and Contemporary Arts of Sicily” in Sicily, Italy.
Lastly, Lena is appointed as a National Curator of the Republic of Kosovo for the global costume design exhibition entitled Innovative Costume of the 21st Century: The Next Generation, which premiered at the State Historical Museum in Moscow, Russia in June, 2019.
