About Me

As a graduate from UCSB in Film and Media Studies I have been involved in many faucets of filmmaking, in particular directing, cinematography and editing. My primary focus and experience is with editing; starting with Adobe Premier and then moving onto Final Cut, editing has been a passion of mine for over 10 years. I am now enrolling in an Avid Media Composer course at the Video Symphony Pro School of Media Production in Burbank that begins in February. My first job out of college was working at the trailer house Create Advertising Inc. in Culver City as a production assistant. Unfortunately, I left the job and the opportunity to advance to an assistant editor position to become more involved in my own film and editing productions. In retrospect, that probably was not the most advantageous move for my career, but I learned a lot of valuable lessons about filmmaking, freelancing and the importance of having a steady career and crucial industry experience. My goal is to work hard and learn as much as I can to better myself and to be a valuable asset to the company or clients I work for.

I currently shoot on the Canon 5D Mark III and own a nice heavy tripod with a fluid head, a mini boom mic and a focus puller.

I am also a musician, music fuels my soul. When I am not developing projects, filming or editing them, I am making music. I have been playing guitar for 15 years and enjoy blues, funk, rock, reggae, alternative and more significantly, infusing Hip-Hop. Hip-Hop has a gotten a terrible reputation lately, but I want to change that and be part of the underground movement where lyrical content and technique are the most important. To me Hip-Hop is poetry and a beautiful form of expression. I have just started making music videos independently and hope to make many more.

I have been in the industry since 2003.
