Stefano is not one of those cinematographers, who could tell you a story of how his parents bought him a camera as a child and how he's been making films ever since. As firm believers of starting from the bottom, they actually never bought him a camera at all, but instead made him work hard from an early age.
At 16, Stefano started working as an electrician for major opera and theater productions all over Europe. Ten years later, he has transitioned into a director of photography and now calls New York home.
Lighting and soccer are amongst his great passions.
Everyone who's ever worked with Stefano, know him as a deeply committed collaborator who brings that extra something to the party (along with his Italian accent) no matter how big or small the budget. His imagination and curiosity combined with his technical skills, make him a versatile director of photography who truly loves what he does.
Till today, he still does not own a camera, but thanks his parents for showing him the tough love.
I have been in the industry since 2010.
