My name is Ben Evangelista and I am a recent graduate of the University of Delaware. I majored in Mass Communication and minored in Spanish. I have a passion for video production, film and social media.
I was one of three executive producers of The Biweekly Show, a campus comedy television program on the University of Delaware’s student network, STN49. The Biweekly Show airs once every two weeks in a format similar to that of John Stewart and Saturday Night Live. As executive producer, I was delegated the task of organizing pre-recorded and live material for our show. We created four pre-recorded packages for each show as well as wrote desk jokes and live segments. I was also the director of the live show; controlling camera angles, show timing and overseeing that each episode ran smoothly.
Last fall I had an assistantship with the University of Delaware Multimedia department. As a student intern, I shot our school's athletic events, created recaps for each game and conducted interviews with coaches and leading scorers. I mainly was placed in charge of the Field Hockey games and have included a feature I created about the foreign members of the team.
Last spring I enrolled in a documentary creation course. Included in my portfolio is the work I completed in this course. The introduction and the ending of the documentary illustrate some of my artistic editing skills that I did not always get the chance to highlight on the University of Delaware television network.
In my portfolio I present a full episode of The Biweekly Show. This highlights some of my responsibilities as director, the show's introductions I was responsible for creating and a typical package that can be found in one of our episodes.
