About Me
I received my first big boost toward a career in cinematography in 2007 as an intern on "The Dark Knight" while I was attending Columbia College in Chicago. I received my BA in Cinematography and went on to shoot countless short films, commercials, PSAs and one feature before being hired by The Washington Post and Kaplan as their in house cinematographer. I eventually moved to Los Angeles and attended AFI where I was mentored by great filmmakers like Bill Dill ASC, Stephen Lighthill ASC, Caleb Deschanel ASC, Dean Cundey ASC, Bob Primes ASC, John Lee Hancock, Peter Markham, Gill Dennis and many others. I received my MFA in Cinematography and have been shooting primarily narrative and branded content ever since. Most notably, I was the cinematographer for a significant portion of Sony's "Be Moved" series. Each spot was designed to show off the versatility of their 4k cinema cameras (f65) and their newest 4k displays at NAB and in stores. Since AFI I have actively sought out ways to increase my knowledge of other fields to make myself a more effective collaborator. As a result, I'm fluent in software that includes but is not limited to: After Effects, Premiere Pro, Smoke, Flame, Resolve, Maya, C4D, Photoshop, Final Cut and Avid. I also own and operate an Alexa and MoVI M15 package.
I have been in the industry since 2007.
