About Me
Rapha Bola is a talented international Cinematographer based in Los Angeles, CA. Some of his works include Marry Men: Yoruba Demons, Heir Apperent (feature length), Shagaya and Clarks (Netflix Series), and The Last One (BET series). His interest in films began while watching works from Charlie Chaplin and Orson Welles, but his focus on cinematography was awakened by the camera work in Citizen Kane. Bola is greatly influenced by European Cinema and strives to covey genuine stories where acting is highlighted. He states that his best form of communication is with the camera, which allows him explore the major problems people face in real life. His visual approach to is quite electric and dynamic. Working behind the camera has also led to other projects, including a music video for Capitol Records, city and county commercials, and a host of other short films. Hollywood is far from Central Africa, where Bola was raised, but he has paved a way for himself through hard work and dedication in the film industry, which has enabled him to travel to multiple countries for various projects. Bola graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography with a BA in Film.
