I'm Ed, I'm well versed in video production in everything from green screen shoots, to field recordings, I've set up multiple studio spaces, and shot in remote regions such as Nome Alaska for a reality show and Yellowstone National Park for a University of Illinois course.
I deliver consistent video with regards to correct exposure, white balance, focus, I avoid camera shake, and bad audio. I make the best out of every shooting situation, I think on my feet and love working with others to solve problems. I have experience with multiple cameras from RED to ENG shoulder cams, I've also shot on 16 and 35mm. I have experience as a gaffer; I have my own light kit, I know how to light for interviews both interior and exterior.
For five years I’ve been a crucial member of the instructional media resources group,or IMR, a video production group that also streams and records campus events.
Currently I produce videos for online courses, which involves scheduling / planning shoots, working closely with content experts, consulting our graphic designers, and checking with the QC team to create finished videos for courses. Throughout our workflow I supervise student editors, assign tasks for my projects, and I handle delivery uploading videos to distribution sites and setting up streaming links from our server.
I love working with others and collaborating on various projects. Having worked on a large team with a shared server I learned how to keep organized and how important it is to archive projects.
I enjoy learning about all aspects of video and encoding (currently I’m learning ffmpeg), but I’m interested in gaining knowledge of how to build web pages, set up servers and networks.
I have been in the industry since 2013.
