Veronica L. Yankowski is an international award-winning photographer that specializes in documentary style events, small business rebranding, soulful portraits and empowering boudoir.
Her career began in 1996 after graduating Rider University Cum Laude with a degree in journalism. She worked part-time for The Trentonian for 2 years before deciding to freelance for some of the areas top news outlets such as The Star Ledger, The New York Times and The Associated Press. In 2001 she took a staff photography job with Greater Media Newspapers for 2 years. During that time she received 19 awards for her images; the most ever won by a staff photographer with the organization. Her most heralded work was her collection of photographs taken on 9-11 and Ground Zero shortly after the attack that has been exhibited all across New Jersey ever since. Those images are registered with the 9-11 National Memorial and Museum and were also featured in her first book titled "Dialogue 3" that was released in 2002.
After the birth of her daughter in 2005 Veronica shifted gears and left the news world to begin her portraiture business. It wasn't until 2012 that she branded her company VeroLuce Photography, Italian for "truth and light." Known for her soulful portraits, Veronica took it a step further creating VeroLuce Boudoir in 2013. That same year reality TV star Dina Manzo of Real Housewives of New Jersey posed for a boudoir session that put Veronica on the map as an expert photographing women and helping them to feel empowered.
In an effort to help women feel more confident, Veronica has been speaking about business branding and how to feel confident on the other side of the camera to women's groups for the past 4 years. Veronica is known for her ability to make her clients comfortable and natural and she offers tips on how to portray that in photographs.
In 2016 Veronica was awarded the Garden State Gala Award for "Best Event Photographer" for the third year in a row. She is also the recipient of the WedAward, an International Wedding Photography Contest, 11 times in 2016 and was ranked as one of the top 30 Best International Wedding Photographers. Two Bright Lights Editors' Choice ranked her in the top 5% of published photographers worldwide and the most published photographer in New Jersey in both 2016 and 2017.
Veronica has been a continuing education photography instructor for Brookdale Community college for the past 7 years. She offers her clients private photography lessons, workshops and mentoring sessions.
Veronica believes in the power of networking and word of mouth. In January 2016 she created Connections Networking to help small business and entrepreneurs build their businesses through collaboration. She is also currently the Vice President of Membership for ILEA, International Live Events Association, proudly serving on the board.
