Based in the greater New York City area, Chelsea Nowak is a freelance makeup and special effects artist with a knack for filmmaking and a zest for the strange and disturbing. She has worked on a diverse array of film sets and photo shoots with premiere photographers as well as the movers and shakers of the up-and-coming generation.
Last year, Chelsea was privileged to compete alongside seven talented artists in Makeup Artist Magazine's Battle of the Brushes at IMATS New York. Her Guardians of the Galaxy-inspired character was then featured as one of Kryolan's "Take 6" selections for the month of November. She was also featured in an episode of the "Dead Ringer" series by NowThis, in which she was charged with recreating iconic horror legend Freddy Krueger for a how-to and scare prank segment.
When she's not freelancing, Chelsea can be found lifecasting and mold making at Gotham FX in Union City, cooking up something tasty in the kitchen, or watching television with her cat. Chelsea is a math- and logic-minded artist with a real passion for problem solving and storytelling. With the right collaborators, she aims to combine film and philosophy to create something that transcends the sum of its parts.
I have been in the industry since 2015.
