Hello -- it's great to meet you through ProductionHUB! I am an active, high-energy Runner/PA/Post-Production Asst./Executive Asst. with a B.A. in Media Arts and Culture and a minor in Classical Studies. As a digital native, I am interested in the evolution of entertainment per social media -- especially given growing social/cultural concerns over personal privacy. I am attentive to detail, think critically on the fly, and work well under pressure. Through my internships and project experiences, I'm comfortable working on location with equipment, on set with talent and crew, in the office with multiple departments and senior executives, or at home with editing programs. In my free time I can be found hiking in Eaton Canyon with my friends, walking dogs in Eagle Rock, or cooking stir fry for my Lincoln Park housemates.
Below is more detail on my LA journey. If you like what you read, please reach out to me. I'm excited to roll up my sleeves on any and all tasks to support your efforts!
*** The Deets ***
A former high school varsity lacrosse and soccer player, manager, referee, and People to People Sports Ambassador, I am a personable, creative team-player through and through. With years of video and theater production, stage crew, tai chi, and varsity sports under my belt, I’m strong enough and flexible enough to move production equipment (and office furniture!). I have a thorough knowledge of the Los Angeles area; a valid driver’s license in good standing with a good driving record; a registered and insured 2014 Nissan Rogue Select; and a cell phone with GPS capability. In a word, I am ready to roll!
In May 2017 I received a B.A. in Media Arts and Culture (MAC) with an Emphasis on Media Production, and a minor in Classical Studies from Occidental College. My MAC coursework integrated the study of film, media, digital design, and cultural theory and criticism, with original script writing and hands-on media development, production, and post-production. At Occidental and through a semester abroad at the University of Otago in New Zealand, I completed advanced projects in media production and editing, video and digital media, and television studio production. I am experienced in reading, watching, writing, debating, and presenting research on films and television shows and have taken classes that explore American, African-American, Japanese, Korean, and Oceanic culture and cinema—original live action as well as documentaries and films inspired by actual events. I have experience with cameras and production equipment and technical theater construction, as well as skills in video and sound mixing and editing (e.g., Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Xenyx 1202 FX sound mixer) and in color correction (e.g., DaVinci Resolve). I’ve pitched and written, cast, scouted and reserved locations, directed, filmed, recorded, edited, and/or produced 9 student productions, including 2 TV pilots at Otago’s studios. I also worked on 3 theatrical productions and gained additional on-air and soundboard experience by creating and co-producing 2 weekly radio programs on KOXY, with talk show banter regarding the latest pop culture and on-campus happenings.
During college I worked as a Programming Intern at DreamWorks TV, interfacing with the Art, Marketing, Programming, Production and Post-Production departments on a plethora of research, QA, planning, and content-related tasks (as well as meeting and greeting visitors at the front desk!). While this internship was Office PA oriented, I did work as a Set PA on a music video and a children’s video, and researched, wrote, captured gameplay for, and/or directed two Minecraft videos. I also worked as a Production Intern (Office PA & Runner) for Awesomeness TV. In this role I assisted on location as a Set PA for Season 2 of Guidance. I dealt well with talent and the crew, including the Electronic Press Kit team, on video shoots and calmly handled an emergency room situation. I also went on numerous runs throughout LA to deliver and pick up physical assets, checks, files, coffee, and food (and made sure the bathroom was supplied!). As testament to my great people-oriented skills and solid set etiquette, I was the sole intern invited to the Guidance wrap party. As noted in my performance review, available on my LinkedIn page, I received positive feedback on my contributions, which show my ability to work hard, multi-task under pressure, be reliable in meeting deadlines, stay highly organized, and intelligently present new ideas and add value.
Since graduating I have freelanced on multiple productions, providing audio/visual recording and editing services to students and established artists, as well as executive assistant support to a production company CEO. Showing my self-starter nature (and love of food and pets!), I've also couriered for Postmates and house sat and dog walked.
I have been in the industry since 2017.
