About Me

Caitlin Machak is a cinematographer originally from Chicago, who studied at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and FAMU Praha.

Caitlin shot "Ask for Jane," starring Cody Horn ("Magic Mike"), Alison Wright ("The Americans"), and Cait Cortelyou, which premiered at the 2018 Hamptons International Film Festival, and is continuing its successful festival run while receiving critical acclaim due to its timely narrative about abortion rights. Her short film work has screened at the Cannes Film Festival, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and the Northside Film Festival.

As a member of the International Cinematographers Guild, Caitlin worked her way up on projects shows such as Netflix's "House of Cards" and HBO's "GIRLS." Recently, she operated "Villains," starring Maika Monroe and Bill Skarsgård, premiering at the 2019 SXSW Film Festival, the second season of TruTV’s "At Home with Amy Sedaris" as well as Netflix's "Friends from College," on which she also acted as a 2nd Unit Cinematographer.

She is also the second half of the band Clapper/Loader.

I have been in the industry since 2010.
