Carmella Cardina has a wide-ranging background in visual and performing arts. Over the past thirty plus years, she has worked in film and video as writer, producer and director. Her vision reflects a rare combination of creativity and business acumen.
Her company [chaosfilms, inc] first project was a short film, “…the fan!” This quirky short has been screened at the 1998 IFFM, Kino Film Festival in Manchester, UK, Kent International Film Festival and the 1998 Spring FlixTour.
Carmella won the reelshort.com online film competition and was honored during the New Directors Short Film Showcase presented by reelshort.com, the American Cinematheque and Universal Pictures.
Carmella produced and directed the indie feature, “The Tempest,” based on the play by William Shakespeare. She directed the short film, “Butterflies” which screened at the Short Film Corner during the Cannes Film Festival, and short film, “The Scrapbook”, with Kelly Carlin, George Carlin’s daughter. Carmella produced the hit Showtime series, “The Green Room with Paul Provenza”, and directed two episodes of the series at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. For Showtime, she produced and directed New year’s Eve special, “House of Lies:LIVE with the cast of “House of Lies.”
Her producing experience includes digital series “The Sidemen Show” YTO, “Grade A Kitchen”, Family of Champions”, and “Pixvile Nightly” for Facebook Watch while in the position of Executive in Charge of Production at Blue Ant Studios. Other productions include “Forever 31 with Iliza. Schlesinger” for ABC Digital, “Set List:Stand Up without a Net” for Sky TV UK.
