Kahlid Elijah Tapia is an American actor who built his film career in Seoul, South Korea. His reputation & experience as an expat thespian made him a budding success in an overseas film industry. As an awards recipient & blogger, Mr. Tapia continues to prove that his time as an expat thespian was the most effective venue for learning the craft & business of acting. He is known for Jojakdwen doshi (2017), Haebangchon (2015), & Seu-pa-i (2013).
Born in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas U.S.Virgin Islands to Ricardo Emilio Tapia, a life long maintenance man, and Melanie Rabsatt-Connor, a registered nurse. Since the age of 13 Kahlid was known for numerous community plays. As a young adult, he became most recognized for his portrayal of "Shoeless" Joe Hardy in the musical "Damn Yankees" in which he received the Best Actor Award. He attended school at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke majoring in public relations and continued acting with roles in The Robber Bridegroom and HMS Pinafore.
In 2009, he moved to Korea to teach English and was noticed and cast by a young director in his first short film Bedwetting. In 2010 he was cast in his first Korean feature film Super Monkey Returns.
I have been in the industry since 2009.
