About Me
As a freelance writer and film editor, I can be the opener and closer for your project. I can take your idea from script to screen.
Personal Logline: I write female-led stories for the forgotten Generation X representing the diversity and inclusion needed in entertainment much like Shonda Rhimes and Ava DuVernay.
One of my favorite movies is Mississippi Burning. As a Mississippi native, the film reminds me that I am not that far removed from the struggles of 60 years ago. Every time I watch, I remember why I should stand for what I believe and be my best authentic self. Another favorite movie is The Devil Wears Prada. The protagonist, Andy goes from being her authentic self to conforming and losing herself to finding her authenticity again. Times come when you have to decide to stand out or fit in. Andy reminds me of why I should stand out.
My ideology for time organization includes a 2-3 hour weekday writing and/research regiment, as well as weekly script reading to complete Save The Cat beat sheets and scene sequences. I believe downtime should be away from writing. For me, reading books on entrepreneur mindset and self-improvement will give me the necessary break.
After getting the story idea from the producer, I will have 3-5 development days to create the beat sheets and scene sequences. In that time, I expect the producer to provide feedback and revisions on that work. Monday through Friday I will write 5-6 pages a day, producing 25-30 pages by the weekend. I would like daily feedback as well. At the end of the month, the producer provides notes. Given that feedback, I will go through revisions and produce a final draft.
I have been in the industry since 2018.
