Venezuelan-born Director, Producer, Artist. Ricardo Betancourt, embarked on his journey to New Orleans at the tender age of 5. Abruptly; several years later, Ricardo and his family were forced to move back to Caracas, during the toughest Venezuelan era. After high school, Ricardo found his way back to the vibrant streets of New Orleans. During college.
Ricardo discovered his passion for Filmmaking & over the past 6 years, he has honed his craft, producing music videos, commercials, and short films, paving the way to his current role as a full-time represented director. Working with clients such as HONDA, EDIFIER GLOBAL, STARZ, CAPITOL RECORDS, UNIVERSAL MUSIC , CAN AM, Stanley Brand, 88 Rising, Wounded Warriors Projects in both Spanish and English.
Ricardo is part of the SUNDANCE Latine Fellowship of 2024, is an Emerging Voices Directors 2024 Lab in New Orleans, Minorities in Film (branded lab) in NYC. & is was nominated as a GOTHAM WEEK branded story teller to watch. Ricardo aims to share his unique perspective and life experiences with the world through his work and is deeply engaged in finalizing post-production on a hybrid documentary short ( SUDAKAS) and development on his first feature (REPARTIDORES), both inspired by his personal views and experiences.
