With 15+ years of experience, I work with startups, brands, and nonprofits to provide full-service video productions of all shapes and sizes — from Online Ads and Animations to Doc-style Testimonials and Branded Content.
Recently I've led projects for: CapitalOne, The New Yorker, Salesforce, Patagonia, Gusto, Box, PayPal, EMC, AT&T — and with a few dozen startups, along with agencies in Silicon Valley, NY, LA, and China as a freelance commercial director.
I work as a consulting creative director to help companies refine their video needs — and then execute them cost-effectively, often directing them myself.
In addition to advertising — where I've directed over 120+ pieces for over 50+ companies — I have a few feature film projects in development or pre-production. My longer-form film work is run through SpeculativeFilms.com, which has produced a series of documentary and narrative films that have won their share of jury awards, played at more than 150+ film festivals, including Cannes — and were commissioned & featured by The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Patagonia Films, Vice, Wired, and National Geographic, to name a few. Currently, I’m in-development on THE FUTURISTS a science docu-series with actress Daisy Ridley (Star Wars); in pre-production on a feature-film version of YOUTH starring Pierce Brosnan (Mrs. Doubtfire, James Bond Franchise); and in development on a motorcycle racing docuseries.
In previous lives, I studied sculpture at UC Berkeley and drove a rusty old Buick over 22,500 miles from San Francisco to the southern tip of South America in Tierra del Fuego. Every four years, I work as a photojournalist on the campaign trail during presidential elections — starting with Nate Silver in 2008 as he launched FiveThirtyEight (later acquired by THE NEW YORK TIMES and then DISNEY).
I have been in the industry since 2009.
