Silvercup Studios East includes six drive-on studios, five with approximately 16,000 ft2 of space, and one with 9,400 ft2 of space, and clear ceilings reaching 28 feet in height.
Silvercup East is currently home to CBS's Person of Interest and Elementary, and USA Network's White Collar. Past projects filmed at Silvercup East have included the television series Ugly Betty, Fringe, Cashmere Mafia, Hope & Faith, The Education of Max Bickford, Now and Again, Welcome to New York, Kidnapped, Six Degrees and Big Apple.
Silvercup Studios East provides film makers and television production companies what they need most – a collection of large, tall studios in a single complex, with all of the required amenities.
Designed in the style of a Hollywood lot, the 200,000 ft2, self-contained, gated complex also includes dressing rooms with showers, 12,000 ft2 of shop space (30-foot high), 25,000 ft2 of production offices, and extensive set, prop and wardrobe storage areas. The complex also provides parking for as many as 100 cars.
Facilities offer on-site production offices, extensive set, prop and wardrobe storage areas and are conveniently located within minutes of midtown Manhattan in close proximity to both the Queens Midtown Tunnel and the Queensboro (59th Street) Bridge.
In addition to providing production facilities, Silvercup has a fully-equipped on-site lighting and grip department as well as a lumber yard with paint, hardware and other set building supplies. Silvercup's affiliated location lighting company, Silvertrucks, also provides a full complement of lighting and grip equipment as well as generators.
Silvercup's Studio 1Silvercup is currently home to the following television shows: CBS's Person of Interest and Elementary, USA’s White Collar, HBO's Girls, TNT's Public Morals, ABC's Manhattan Love Story, and NBC’s Allegiance and Mysteries of Laura. NBC's 30 Rock and WB's Gossip Girl recently completed successful multi-season runs. The facility has also hosted HBO's The Sopranos and Sex & the City, ABC’s Ugly Betty QVC's home shopping channel, Q2, which broadcasted live, eighteen hours per day, ABC’s Hope & Faith, Fox’s Fringe, HBO’s In Treatment as well as Big Apple, Queens Supreme, Welcome to New York, The Education of Max Bickford, and French TV show Brooklyn Taxi, among others.
A multitude of commercials have been produced at the facility each year including national campaigns for Macy's, Target, Dunkin Donuts, Verizon, IKEA, Nike, Verizon, Capitol One, Wendy's, Victoria's Secret, and The Gap.
Feature films which have been shot at Silvercup Studios are Imagine Entertainment’s Tower Heist, starring Ben Stiller, and Casey Affleck, New Line’s New Year’s Eve starring Robert De Niro, Lea Michele and Michelle Pfieffer among many others, Twentieth Century’s The Sitter, starring Jonah Hill and Sam Rockwell, Columbia Pictures feature Julie & Julia starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams, Sex & the City –The Movie both I and II, starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon, Date Night, starring Tina Fey and Steve Carell, No Reservations starring Catherine Zeta Jones and Aaron Eckart, The Devil Wears Prada, again with Streep and Anne Hathaway, Little Children starring Kate Winslet, What Happens in Vegas with Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher and Music & Lyrics with Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant. Other notable films that have been shot at Silvercup include New Line Cinema’s Birth with Nicole Kidman, Stay with Ewan McGregor and Hide & Seek with Robert De Niro, both for 20th Century Fox, the recent Uptown Girls, Two Weeks Notice, Changing Lanes, Just My Luck, and Adam Sandler's Deeds. Other notable films that have been shot at Silvercup include: Big Daddy, Little Nicky; Gangs of New York; Analyze That, Meet the Parents and Hugh Grant's Mickey Blue Eyes.
Silvercup Studios also provides facilities for still photography including shoots for fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Mirabella as well as The Source and XXL. Annie Liebowitz's famous cover shot for Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA album was shot on our stages. Many music videos have been produced and shot at the studio for artists such as Beyonce , Madonna, Mariah Carey, Kenny G. Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, Limp Bizkit, George Michael, Nine Inch Nails, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.
