The California Film Commission (CFC) enhances California''s position as the premier location for all motion picture and television production. A one-stop shop for filmmakers, the CFC issues permits for filming on state-owned property and administers several incentive programs for filming in California. By working with production companies from start to finish, the CFC facilitates all aspects of the filmmaking process (including pre and post-production) and helps resolve filming problems before they occur.
There are no permit or site fees for filming on State properties. From museums to prisons, fish hatcheries to parking lots, freeways to back roads, and beaches to mountain ranges, the CFC helps filmmakers gain access to the perfect locations they need, and permits for State facilities.
