About
An interview from the 2015 National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas with Jeff Cree of Band Pro Film & Digital Inc. , the most comprehensive resource for digital cinema equipment and technical information in the industry. Band Pro sells a full array of carefully selected, high-end production acquisition equipment and accessories. In this interview Jeff talks with us about a wide array of products that they were excited to show off at NAB this year. Products like, the Tecnopoint Excalibur telescopic crane, Leica Summilux-C & Summicron-C lenses, the Wi Vid WVC-HD-2000 Wireless Transmitter and the IO Industries Flare 4KSDI 4K Camera.
The Summicron-C lenses compliment CW Sonderoptic’s existing line of Leica Summilux-C T1.4 prime lenses. They employ a classic spherical lens design but feature custom coatings to more closely match the color and natural skin tone rendition of the Summilux-C lenses. They also exhibit excellent flare suppression with very low chromatic aberration and distortion. To accommodate the growing size of modern electronic sensors, the Leica Summicron-C lenses have an image circle exceeding 34.5mm in diameter. All lenses in the Summicron-C line share an identical size (4” / 101mm long with a 95mm front diameter), except for the 135mm, which is slightly longer. Weighing between 2.7 – 4.1 lbs., the Leica Summicron-C lenses are among the smallest and lightest cine prime lenses available.
The latest Transmitter from Wi Vid, the WVC-HD-2000 system, can transmit full 1080p HD wireless video over 2000ft. clear-line-of-sight range. The system has SDI and HDMI inputs for the Transmitter and SDI and HDMI outputs for the Receiver. The Receiver unit can use both of these outputs at the same time for 2 full 1080p HD video displays. The Transmitter can use either SDI or HDMI with SDI having top priority if 2 devices are plugged in at the same time. HD-SDI HDMI Transmitters & Receivers provide full 1080p HD wireless video solutions for almost any clear-line-of-sight applications such as mobile cameras, UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) and point to point video links. The Transmitter is lightweight (only 8oz.) and compact for use with steadicam systems as well. HD-SDI HDMI Transmitters & Receivers from Wi Vid Wireless Video Cameras use technology providing some of the lowest video latency on the market (>1ms). This makes the systems ideal for live broadcast of full 1080p HD video or on set HD video requiring real-time wireless video.
The IO Industries Flare 4KSDI 4K/UHD Cameras is a compact one-piece camera head with SDI video output using a 4K Super 35/APS-C CMOS sensor with global shutter. It supports multiple lens mount options such as F, EF & PL Mounts. It outputs at 10-bit 4:2:2, 4:4:4 or RAW output over 4x 3G/HD-SDI outputs with high sensitivity and low noise. It also has many standard features like Auto-exposure and Auto-white balance and manual settings like Adjustable color matrix, saturation and gamma.
