About
An interview from the 2015 National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas with David Wells of Moving Picture. Since 1987, Moving Picture Electronic Services has been a leader in the rental and support of all types of audio & video production equipment. Whether you are searching for a digital cinema camera rental, lens rental, Avid Media Composer rental, film lighting package, grip truck rental, sound mixer, video assist operator, or camera crew -- Moving Picture is your "One Stop Shop" for all your film and video production needs. In this interview David talks with us about one of his favorite wireless controllers he got to test while at NAB 2015, the ikan TiltaMax Wireless Follow Focus and FIZ Controller.
The TiltaMax is a 3 to 6 channel system (3 for a single lens, 6 for two lenses) that allows you to control the focus, zoom and iris of your lens or lenses. The unit itself has an LED touchscreen with adjustable brightness for optimal viewing no matter the time of day, as well as an LED lit marking disc. The TiltaMax comes with preset options for a variety of different lenses, but you can also save your own presets for customizable ease of use. The unit integrates with Cinetape to help the user create hard and soft focus markers; once set the unit won’t go beyond the programmed range, making it easier to keep sharp focus even on moving targets. It also has a handy feature that causes the TiltaMax to vibrate when you get to the end of your focal length. There’s also an autofocus mode that can track automatically, effectively adding AF to manual-only cine lenses.
