About
An interview from the 2016 Band Pro 'One World' Open House in Burbank California with Jason Been of Imagecraft. For over 25 years, Imagecraft has been providing equipment rentals and production support to the entertainment industry. Unlike other rental houses, they provide crew, offer 24/7 production and technical support, and assist with shooting logistics. Their staff brings experience from thousands of projects ranging from single camera ENG shoots to major multi-camera productions, and are available to help with any aspect of your production. In this interview we talk with Jason about the company and the new IB/E Raptor FF Prime Macro Lenses.
Imagecraft Productions became the first rental house in North America to offer the new, IB/E Raptor Prime Macro Lenses for rental. There are 3 different focal lengths available right now, 100mm, 150mm and 180mm. Each lens features full frame coverage (24mmX36mm), 1:1 magnification, consistent T-stop T2.9, as well as robust and durable cine mechanics. Based in Germany, IB/E is a globally respected optics manufacturer known for cutting edge expanders, adapters, and lenses, including the new Arri 65 lenses.
Imagecraft Owner and President, Jason Been says, “Imagecraft is really excited to add the new RAPTOR lenses to our rental inventory. Aside from the obvious commercial television application, these lenses can help DPs and cinematographers in creating detailed imagery for documentaries all the way to sit down interviews. We really can’t wait to see what our clients do with them”.
Band Pro noted, “These new macro lenses were designed to address the industry-wide movement toward larger format sensors (including RED Weapon 6K and 8K, Sony A7, and ARRI ALEXA 65 cameras). These larger sensors deliver a convincing film-look and interesting bokeh due to their very shallow depth of field, and require lenses that can cover their larger camera sensor sizes.”
