AbelCine LA Celebrates Upgraded Facility with Open House
AbelCine recently hosted an Open House at their Burbank facility to celebrate its renovation and expansion. An estimated 300 people attended throughout the day, participating in seminars, chatting with AbelCine’s technical specialists and staff, and networking with colleagues.Over the course of the day, AbelCine’s brand new theaters were packed for free technical seminars on a variety of topics, including ARRI Cameras & Accessories, Sony Super35 Camera Systems, Canon Cinema EOS, and the Phantom Flex4K. Cinematographer and director Sony Behar teamed up with AbelCine’s Andy Shipsides for a presentation on “Choosing the Right Camera.”

Behind the Production Design of Dolly Parton's Anthology Series
Heartstrings is an anthology series inspired by Parton's beloved songs. Because each episode was its own unique story - each episode needed a new set and design to fit the respective setting, era, and protagonist. From “J.J. Sneed," taking place in the old west, to “Down from Dover," taking place in the Vietnam War era, to “Jolene," which is set in modern day American South, it was Production Designer Ina Mayhew’s job to create sets that accurately represented each era and most importantly represented the message of each Dolly Parton classic.
