In Review: JVC GY-HM200SP 4K Camcorder Delivers Winning Shots
It is not unusual over the course of the year to get quite a few different professional camera packages to try out. They range from super high end to entry pro level. But that’s ok by me because I am always looking for the right camera for the program, not overkill. That said the JVC GY-HM200SP 4K CAM was really quite a pleasant surprise. But I’m not really sure why I was surprised. I think I might know. Normally, we only get to hang on to a camera for a few weeks at most. This time however we had a chance to stretch that review period out over a longer time which was some of the local high school football season and couldn’t have been happier with the results. Robbie Carman, co owner of post production finishing company Amigo Media and colorist for the documentary “Snow Guardians”, took some time aside to share with us the process of creating such an immensely visual documentary. The doc is based on the life and work of Ski Patrol at several Montana Ski Resorts as well as the Search and Rescue teams that respond to winter emergencies.The visual goal of the “Snow Guardians” crew was to immerse the viewer into the lives of the men and women who take on this challenging high altitude job, while capturing the vast natural beauty of the remote and sometimes inhospitable mountain winter.The documentary is shot using cutting edge motion control time-lapse systems to help show the beauty and the amazing winter weather in Montana’s mountains.

High Notes: An Exclusive Q & A with Rhino Man Composer Simón Wilson
Simón Wilson is an award-winning Los Angeles based composer that works in television and film. He has scored projects such as Gift of Fear, Celebrity Escape Room and Momentum.
